It is just me, or does it somehow feel wrong to sexualize Anna Kendrick this way? I mean, she’s a fantastic actress and seems like a fun and hilarious person to be around, but the shoot comes off awkward more than anything else. Of course, GQ can’t not put their stars in underwear and bras during photoshoots, so it wasn’t exactly a surprise. But when I think of Anna Kendrick, I think of more classy and elegant than bras and underwear photoshoots.
Anyway, Anna has been promoting her new movie ‘Drinking Buddies’ and when it comes to dating and drinking, she jokes, “If sex is off the table, and you’re like ‘Let’s try to get to know each other,’ I would recommend drinking. Highly.” She also adds, “Two subjects to never bring up on a first date are anything to do with the actual reality of your family, you know, liver cancer and how we’ve probably all got it.”
See, she’s hilarious – and her career has never been going better, with roles in small comedies and independents juxtaposed with sure-fire blockbusters like next year’s Into the Woods with Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp.
Obviously, Anna is a big hit with the GQ reader community, and she’s considered one of the more likable members of Young Hollywood, alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, and Emma Watson. While her career may not be on the same level as Stone or Lawrence, she does get offered a lot of opportunities, but she’s apparently just picky about the films she chooses to work on. Either way, I still think she can do better than posing in tacky underwear shoots, but I guess if you’re interviewed by GQ, you can’t really pick and choose.
